At Birds on Bikes, we believe in knowing who makes your clothes — and we’re proud to say, it’s us. Our small, passionate team is based in Brisbane and handles everything from design to production, packing to customer love. We’re makers, riders, creatives, and community-builders — and we love what we do.
Barbara – Founder & Creative Director
The heart behind Birds on Bikes, Barbara is a designer, cyclist, and the ultimate multitasker. With 20+ years in graphic design and a deep love for ethical fashion, she launched Birds on Bikes to empower women of all shapes to feel confident on two wheels. She’s also the creative force behind our patterns, prints, and product direction — and the first to laugh loudly in the studio.

Michelle – Lead Machinist & Production Queen
Michelle brings the magic to life — quite literally. As our head machinist, she sews many of the pieces you ride in and helps maintain the smooth hum of our Brisbane studio. With a background in production and a fierce eye for quality, Michelle ensures every garment meets our high standards. She’s also known for her calm presence and ability to solve just about anything with a cup of tea and a smile.
The Collective Crew
We bring in additional makers, trainees, and collaborators through our manufacturing arm, Ethical Edge Collective. Whether they’re helping with sewing, cutting, packing, or photoshoots, we’re all about creating opportunities for women to thrive in fashion — ethically and proudly Australian Made.
